What causes pain on skin surface in the abdominal or vulvas areas
Sep 30, 2011 > Women
Patients occasionally experience pain or skin surface, either in the low abdominal area or on the vulva. This comfort is usually due to herpes if one the vulva or to shingles (herpes zoster) if one the low abdomen or vulva. Pain from these two problems is usually not difficult to diagnose and is not usually confused with the pelvic pain we will discuss in the next from question. Obviously, other skin problem can cause discomfort in the vulva area if the gynecologic is not sure what the problem is.
What causes low abdominal and pelvic pain?
Low abdominal and pelvic is problem for both patients and their doctors. It is not only difficult to diagnose, but it can also be just as difficult to treat. Many well qualified physicians believe that 50 percent of the pelvic pain that women experience is not due to physical abnormalities. The implication is that the pain is often psychological in origin. Although I do not doubt that same pelvic pain is due to emotions, my experience has beet that this is uncommon.
When pain is caused by emotion, the emotions after cause true physical pain that can be treat 9surh as irritable colon). When the physical pain is alleviated, a womanís emotional problem can be evaluated and treated more easily. If a patient and her doctor purpose pain evaluation, the cause can almost always be found and treated. Some physical causes of this type of pain are discussed in the following question.
What is Champix and the Side Effects When Karen McGhee woke up in a hospital bed and saw her teenage daughter looking anxiously at her, she was completely flummoxed.
"My arm was bandaged and the left side of my mouth and neck felt numb, as if I had been to the dentist - but I had no idea why I was in hospital," says the 38-year-old.
In fact, the mother-of-three from Greenock, Scotland, had developed severe depression and tried to hang herself after taking Champix - a pill designed to help reduce nicotine withdrawal symptoms and stop cravings.
Scurvy Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention Scurvy is a disease caused by vitamin C deficiency. It is characterized by anemia (deficiency of red blood cells), spongy gums, a tendency to bleed and abnormal bone and tooth formation. The disease may be either acute (short-term) or chronic (long-term).
Vitamin C is essential for the formation and maintenance of connective tissue, bone tissue, and teeth. It is also essential for the healing of wounds and burns.
Actinic Keratosis Pictures, Causes and Treatment Actinic keratosis (senile or solar keratosis) is the most common precancerous dermatosis.
Single or multiple lesions develop on areas exposed to the sun, such as the face, the backs of
the hands, the forearms, the neck, and balding scalp. Actinic cheilitis denotes scaly or
crusted patches of precancer on the vermilion of the lips. In actinic keratosis, lesions are
round or irregularly shaped, erythematous or tan plaques with an adherent scaly or rough
surface. They range in size from several millimeters to 1 cm or more.
Locally invasive lesions
have been reported to develop in 12 percent of patients with actinic keratoses. These lesions
result in squamous cell carcinomas that occasionally metastasize [see Malignant Epithelial
Tumors, Squamous Cell Carcinoma, below].1,14 Signs that an actinic keratosis has become
malignant are elevation, ulceration or inflammation, and recent enlargement, usually to a
diameter greater than 1 cm.
Beta carotene foods and benefits (provitamin A) Vitamin A comes in several forms, such as preformed retinoids found in animal products that are ready for use by the body and carotenoids found in plants. Carotenoids are called provitamin A because they must first be converted to the retinoid form if they are to be used for vitamin A functions. More than 600 carotenoids are found in nature; 50 of them have potential vitamin A activity. The most potent form is beta-carotene. The retinoids and carotenoids combine to form what is generally referred to as vitamin A.
Birth Control Side Effects Long Terms Many of the adverse effects of oral contraceptive use reported
in the older literature were found subsequently to be dose related. As a result,
the incidence of side effects has diminished dramatically as the hormonal
content of the pill has plummeted. In the 1960s, the pill had 150 ug of
mestranol and 10 mg of progestin, whereas modem low-dose formulations have 20-35
ug of estrogen and 1 mg or less of progestin. Side effects reported to occur
with oral contraceptive use include headaches, weight changes, mood changes,
changes in libido, vaginal changes, and gastrointestinal problems. A recent
double-blinded, placebo-controlled study found that the incidence of side
effects with low-dose oral contraceptives was not statistically different from
that of the placebo users. The incidence of weight gain, breast tenderness, and
headache was essentially the same in each group.
non Hodgkin lymphoma Symptoms Definition of non-Hodgkin lymphoma: Any of a large group of cancers of lymphocytes (white blood cells). Non-Hodgkin lymphomas can occur at any age and are often marked by lymph nodes that are larger than normal, fever, and weight loss. There are many different types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. These types can be divided into aggressive (fast-growing) and indolent (slow-growing) types, and they can be formed from either B-cells or T-cells. B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas include Burkitt lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL), diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, follicular lymphoma, immunoblastic large cell lymphoma, precursor B-lymphoblastic lymphoma, and mantle cell lymphoma.
Propofol infusion syndrome and other side effects Propofol (INN, marketed as Diprivan by AstraZeneca) is a short-acting, intravenously administered hypnotic agent. Its uses include the induction and maintenance of general anesthesia, sedation for mechanically ventilated adults, and procedural sedation. Propofol is also commonly used in veterinary medicine. Propofol is approved for use in more than 50 countries, and generic versions are available.
Heat Stroke Long Term Effects Are you looking for heat stroke long term effects? here is some good article about heat stroke long term effects.
Heat stroke is a form of hyperthermia, an abnormally elevated body temperature with accompanying physical symptoms including changes in the nervous system function. Unlike heat cramps and heat exhaustion, two other forms of hyperthermia that are less severe, heat stroke is a true medical emergency that is often fatal if not properly and promptly treated.
Hemroid Cure Treatment Are you looking for hemroid cure treatment? Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in the anal canal. This common problem can be painful, but itís usually not serious. What causes hemorrhoids?
Too much pressure on the veins in the pelvic and rectal area causes hemorrhoids.
Normally, tissue inside the anus fills with blood to help control bowel movements. If you strain to move stool, the increased pressure causes the veins in this tissue to swell and stretch. This can cause hemorrhoids.
Diarrhea or constipation also may lead to straining and can increase pressure on veins in the anal canal.
Stomach Cancer Symptoms and Signs The stomach is a hollow organ in the upper abdomen, under the ribs.
It's part of the digestive system. Food moves from the mouth through the esophagus to the stomach. In the stomach, the food becomes liquid. Muscles in the stomach wall push the liquid into the small intestine.
Cancer begins in cells, the building blocks that make up tissues. Tissues make up the organs of the body.
Normally, cells grow and divide to form new cells as the body needs them. When cells grow old, they die, and new cells take their place.
Sometimes, this process goes wrong. New cells form when the body does not need them, and old or damaged cells do not die as they should. The buildup of extra cells often forms a mass of tissue called a growth, polyp, or tumor.
Adrenal Insufficiency Causes, Symptoms and Treatment Autoimmune adrenalitis is the most common cause of primary adrenal insufficiency. Adrenalitis caused by tuberculosis was once the most common cause. Autoimmune adrenalitis is sometimes accompanied by other autoimmune endocrine deficiencies, such as thyroid disease, diabetes mellitus, pernicious anemia, hypoparathyroidism, or ovarian failure (Table 14). Recently, AIDS and antiphospholipid syndrome have been cited as additional causes.
Iatrogenic tertiary adrenal insufficiency, a common secondary cause of adrenal insufficiency, results from suppression of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal function secondary to glucocorticoid administration. Secondary adrenal insufficiency may also result from pituitary or hypothalamic disease, as described earlier.
What is Marijuana and the Effects on Brain and Body Approximately 25 years ago, marijuana became a cultural phenomenon, the symbol of one generation's disregard for another. The marijuana found on the streets at that time, however, lacked the potency of current crops. Crossbreeding of more potent variates, improved cultivation, and the part of the plant being used all contribute to increased levels of the delta90-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the major psychoactive drug found in marijuana. Some marijuana currently grown in the United States rivals the previously stringer varieties of Mexico, Jamaica, and other areas. The THC percentage of Cannabis saliva (the Indian hemp plant which marijuana is derived) in plants grown in the United Sates can range from 2% to as high as 7%. The higher the percentage of THC , the more potent the drug. Marijuana is composed of the dried leaves and flowering tops of the cannabis plant. Hashish, which has stronger effects, is processed from called hash oil. Marijuana is seed motor extensively than hashish in the United States.
How HIV Is Transmitted HIV typically enters one personís body when another personís infected body fluids (semen, vaginal secretions, blood, etc.) gain entry through a breach in body defenses. Mucous membranes of the genital organs and the anus provide the easiest route of entry. If there is a break in mucous membranes (as can occur during sexual intercourse, particularly anal intercourse), the virus enters and begins to multiply.
