Blood type diet chart and list

Sep 03, 2011 > Diet
Are you looking for blood type diet chart? The blood type diet is a diet advocated by Peter D'Adamo, a naturopathic physician, and outlined in his book Eat Right 4 Your Type. D'Adamo's claim is that ABO blood type is the most important factor in determining a healthy diet, and he promotes distinct diets for people with O, A, B, and AB blood types.

One criticism of D'Adamo's hypotheses and recommendations claims that he provided inadequate evidence. For example, his first book, Eat Right 4 Your Type, published in 1997, contains only a bibliography. While his subsequent books have provided thorough references for the classifications of various foods within his categories of "beneficials", "neutrals" and "avoids", his specific process and reasons for reaching these conclusions of classification remain undocumented.

If you're blood type O ("for old," as in humanity's oldest blood line) your digestive tract retains the memory of ancient times, says D'Adamo, so you're metabolism will benefit from lean meats, poultry, and fish. You're advised to restrict grains, breads, and legumes, and to enjoy vigorous exercise.

Type A ("for agrarian") flourishes on vegetarian diets, "the inheritance of their more settled and less warlike farmer ancestors," says D'Adamo. The type A diet contains soy proteins, grains, and organic vegetables and encourages gentle exercise.

The nomadic blood type B has a tolerant digestive system and can enjoy low-fat dairy, meat, and produce but, among other things, should avoid wheat, corn, and lentils, D'Adamo says. If you're type B, it's recommended you exercise moderately.

The "modern" blood type AB has a sensitive digestive tract and should avoid chicken, beef, and pork but enjoy seafood, tofu, dairy, and most produce. The fitness regimen for ABs is calming exercises.

Blood type diet chart and list #7Guidelines for Exercise in the Cold
Problems related to exercise in cold weather include frostbite and hypothermia (abnormally low body temperature). Frostbite can lead to permanent damage loss of a body part from gangrene. This can be prevented by adequately protecting exposed areas, such as fingers, the nose, ears, facial skin, and wrists. A stocking hat is preferable for two reasons: (1) blood vessels in the scalp do not constrict effectively, so a significant amount of heat is lost if a head covering is not worn, and (2) a stocking-type hat can be pulled down to protect the ears. In very cold or windy weather, you can use surgical or ski masks and scarves to keep facial skin warm and to moisten and warm inhaled air. All exposed or poorly protected flesh is vulnerable to frostbite when the temperature is low and the wind chill high.

Blood type diet chart and list #9Aneurysm Symptoms and Treatment
An aneurysm is a bulge in a blood vessel, usually an artery, due to a weakness in the vessel wall, particularly in the elastic, muscular middle layer of the artery wall. An artery has three layers: the intima, which is the smooth inner layer; the media, or middle layer; and the adventitia, which is the tough outer layer. A true aneurysm involves all three layers, whereas a false aneurysm is a disruption or clot in one or two of the layers, causing a bulge in the vessel. A dissecting aneurysm occurs when blood separates the layers, thereby creating an extra channel, sometimes extending the full length of the artery, through which blood flow is diverted from the organs or tissues served by the blood vessel. This dangerous condition can develop in a matter of hours a day. The main danger of most untreated aneurysm is that they may rupture, causing death due to loss of blood. Even if death does not occur, blood loss may so decrease blood flow to the heart that it cannot work properly.
Blood type diet chart and list #10Anemia Symptoms in Women and Pregnancy
Anemia is common among women, in both the obstetric and the primary care settings. It is not a disease in and of itself, but it indicates the presence of an underlying disorder, such as an occult malignancy, nutritional deficiency, or bleeding, that must be sought out and effectively treated. Anemia is a decline in erythrocyte mass from any etiology and is generally defined as a hematocrit or hemoglobin value that is two standard deviations below the mean for a given population. Specifically, in women, a hemoglobin value less than 12 g/dL (or less than approximately 11 g/dL in pregnancy) is generally considered consistent with anemia. The lowered norms in pregnancy occur because of a "physiological anemia" as a result of the disparate rise in the plasma and erythrocyte volumes. The norms for hemoglobin among those of African descent are 1 g/dL lower.
